I will be able to describe what impacts the amount of movement a joint has. I will be able to explain the benefits of flexibility training. I will be able to apply the different types of stretches as I develop a flexibility program. I will describe the best times to stretch. I will provide examples of the stretching guidelines that were followed in the days stretching session. Seed questions: What is the definition of flexibility? Describe factors that limit joint movement. What is the impact of flexibility on daily tasks? (benefits) What are the six principles that Pilates is based off of? What are the key points of developing a flexibility program? Differentiate appropriate,effective stretching guidelines vs. inappropriate ineffective stretching methods? Describe the different types of stretches. Who is flexibility important for? What factors are associated with neck and lower back pain? Activity: -Instructor Lead Stretching Session -Play communities formed and begin skill work.
